GDI Engages TechOpp, Inc. for Contract Support to Accelerate Funding Pursuits and Technology Development

Pinehurst, NC —

Global Defense, Inc. (GDI) has formally engaged TechOpp, Inc. to provide targeted contract support services focused on identifying, developing, and submitting federal and commercial funding proposals. This support will enhance GDI’s access to working capital while accelerating the delivery of advanced technologies aligned with national defense, infrastructure resilience, and enterprise modernization.

GDI’s mission is to deliver mission-ready platforms that are both operationally traceable and mission-compliant, bridging visibility with technological agility across government and commercial sectors.

TechOpp brings deep expertise in federal acquisition strategy, SBIR/STTR submissions, and opportunity analysis. The firm has supported dozens of successful Phase I and II SBIR efforts and is recognized for helping emerging technology providers navigate complex defense funding environments.

Under this engagement, TechOpp will assist GDI in pursuing high-value funding pathways, including Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements, SBIR/STTR programs, and R&D grant opportunities — all of which align with GDI’s mission to deliver secure, scalable solutions across the national security and critical infrastructure landscape.

Proposal efforts will emphasize dual-use technologies such as secure asset tracking, integrated platform capabilities, and mission assurance frameworks designed to enable operational continuity and compliance. With a specific focus on supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other federal agencies, GDI is positioning its core solutions to meet emerging government priorities and procurement models.

“This engagement is another important step forward for GDI,” said Allen R. Mayfield, Jr., Founder and CEO. “By bringing in dedicated contract support from a firm with TechOpp's track record, we’re expanding our ability to compete, deliver, and scale — while keeping our internal focus on development, integration, and execution.”

GDI expects to initiate its first round of formal submissions under this engagement beginning in Q3 FY25.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pinehurst, NC – May 23, 2025 – Global Defense, Inc. (GDI), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and developer of the patent-pending Global Defense Asset Management (GDAM) platform, proudly announces its formal engagement with a Department of Defense (DoD)-recognized cybersecurity provider authorized to assist small defense contractors in achieving Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level I.

This strategic partnership—focused on accelerating cybersecurity compliance for defense-sector small businesses—marks a key milestone in GDI’s alignment with DoD and U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) cybersecurity and mission assurance priorities. The partner organization, vetted and contracted by the DoD, specializes in guiding SDVOSBs through scalable pathways to certification.

“This step demonstrates GDI’s continued commitment to securing national defense data and systems, ensuring that our technologies are not only operationally transformative, but also cyber compliant,” said Allen R. Mayfield, Jr., Founder and CEO of GDI. “Our alignment with a certified DoD partner ensures a fast-tracked, audit-ready approach to CMMC Level I—positioning us to meet the increasingly stringent security thresholds of both the Department of Defense and SOCOM.”

As GDI prepares for expanded engagement across the DoD ecosystem—including pending SBIR Phase I and Phase II initiatives and integrated mission support—this certification effort reinforces the company’s readiness to support programs requiring secure handling of Federal Contract Information (FCI). It also directly supports SOCOM’s expectations for cyber-hardened, interoperable solutions from emerging defense vendors.

Under the agreement, the partner will conduct comprehensive compliance assessments, develop a tailored System Security Plan (SSP), implement required technical controls, and guide GDI through final audit preparations. Certification is anticipated in Q4 2025.

The GDAM platform, GDI’s flagship offering, delivers AI-driven, near real-time visibility and autonomous tracking of critical defense assets—without reliance on traditional RFID or human-driven reporting. As part of this initiative, GDI will also enhance its internal access controls, endpoint protection measures, and data integrity systems in full alignment with CMMC mandates.
