As a former North Carolina State Senator, he played a pivotal role in shaping economic and business policies, serving as Senate Majority Leader from 2011 until his retirement in 2021. Beyond his public service, Mr. Brown is a highly accomplished entrepreneur. He is the owner of National Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and has successfully expanded his business portfolio to include automotive dealerships, an insurance agency, and media enterprises. Additionally, he is a licensed real estate broker associate with Century 21 Champion Real Estate, earning recognition as one of North Carolina’s top-performing agents. His extensive experience in business operations, real estate, and economic development provides GDI with valuable strategic insight into market expansion and corporate growth.

He is a past president of the Jacksonville/Onslow Chamber of Commerce, past chairman of the North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association, and past president of the Jacksonville Breakfast Rotary Club.
