
Michael Buxton is a Senior Technical Engineer at Global Defense, Inc., where he supports the company’s technical architecture, system maturation, and disciplined engineering execution across defense and national security technology initiatives.
Mr. Buxton served as a Communications Electronics Technician in the United States Marine Corps, where he worked hands-on with a wide range of military communications systems, including computer systems, switchboards, HF/VHF/UHF radios, satellite communications, and limited cryptographic system repair. This experience provided a strong foundation in operational systems, reliability, and mission-critical technology environments.
Following his military service, Mr. Buxton built a career spanning advanced industrial automation and software-driven systems. He has formal education in Computer Information Systems from the Florida Institute of Technology, along with graduate-level education and training in machine learning and artificial intelligence through Columbia Engineering in New York. His technical background also includes education in electro-mechanical controls and programmable logic systems.
At Global Defense, Inc., Mr. Buxton applies this multidisciplinary experience to support robust system design, data-driven architectures, and the responsible integration of automation and AI techniques into complex technical environments.
An IEEE member, Mr. Buxton actively engages in continuing education and brings a practical, systems-oriented approach to strengthening GDI’s technical depth and long-term innovation capacity.
